The complex of publications, the conference itself, and associated field excurisons, were an outcome of an immense labor. Many individuals and agencies were involved […] an impressive and resounding success.
This reviewer is confindent that none of the perfafrost fraternity (for these conferences have produced just that) will hesitate to support his suggestion that this achievement must be regarded as a triumpant culmination of Roger Brown’s devotion to his chosen subject.
I don’t think that anyone would call the conferences I went to “a resounding success”.
Conference proceedings are listed as costing
“$10 for six-volume set” or “$35 for three-volume set” - $40 to $138 in today’s $s.
That seems inexpensive compared to what they cost now.
I tried looking for what a set of similar conference proceedings costs hardcopy now. Actually they’re all free online on the association websites.
