Belt

I used to buy dickeys’ reversible leather belts, which can be trimmed by unscrewing the setscrews.

The main way my belts seem to wear is they get curved into a hoop shape over time.

At the moment, I buy any cheap belt from Walmart that says “30-32”.

Pants

I’m have a high aspect ratio so it’s hard to buy pants.

Definitely my favorite. Nice fabric, and the way the ‘chino’ pockets are set seems to make it a little more robust to washing.

Which fit well but were too long - need to be hemmed in at the bottom.

I had issues with jeans shrinking until I read the label and found that I should be washing on cold and drying on low (or just hanging them to dry)

For orange shirt day there is a pop-up. I also bought a plain orange shirt from Michaels.

It’s best if you don’t wash your things first, as some fabrics could be damaged or shrink if they go into a hot dryer while they are wet. Put your dry clothes and sleep gear into the hot dryer for half an hour. Then if you want to wash things do it according to label directions after the heat treatment.

I bought Hanes Mens Big Tall Crew Socks, 12-14, White from Walmart. These are not the same as the “Cushion Crew” socks I got from amazon; they don’t have gray on the arch and they have the word “Hanes” on the bottom.

These socks are too tight for me.

Mark’s here doesn’t have the size socks.

I hear clothes typically shrink in the dryer when wet. Site recommended that, for clothes that aren’t designed for high temperature, kill bed bugs by drying them when dry.

Now gotten in the habit of wash->Normal dry->Normal->Medium then dry->Manual/High.

Undershirt

If arms of the undershirt are too short, I previously noted I can get stains in shirt in summer.

Now that I’m walking to work more, most of the time I don’t wear an undershirt under the light polo, no issues.

Summer shirt

Small or medium loose-fit collared button polo shirt.

Seem to have made the laundry more manageable by cutting down on all the misc. stuff, by hanging up a specific pair of e.g. p.js, pants, etc I wear when at home for short periods - that way stuff that has only been worn a short time gets reworn.

having a strict rule of not starting washing machine after 6:30 pm - just delay it to the next day - has made a big difference.

Socks

For winter, I buy Cabela’s:

For summer:

I officially cannot get socks from anywhere except amazon.

Hanes does not sell direct to Canada. maybe I could get from Mr. Big & Tall specialty store in person, I would need to . I bit the bullet and stocked up from amazon.

These socks did not fit:

Lubricate your zippers!

putting hooks on the wall, and putting already-worn pjs and “utility” clothes for after shower, and being deliberate about when I throw stuff to get laundered and recognizing that not everything needs to be absolutely clean in a tradeoff with the amount of laundry, has helped a lot

It’s hard to buy clothes nowadays?

Early this winter I found long johns that fit me. They’re now discontinued at cantire.

Old navy pants - found them, that SKU is now gone.

When I find stuff that fits me, I should buy a lot while they’re still available.

That way the duty cycle of “spending time searching for suitable products” to “using products until they wear out” is lower.
