Notes on feeding oneself

thinking of switching deodorants again.

I should start trying shredded mozza instead of parm.

Just had one of these. value per dollar is way better than ben’s rice sachets as a freezer meal

why have I not been leaning into premade frozen meals? that beef and rice for $4 (okay, on sale) doesn’t justify me making food.

Hard cheeses like cheddar, colby, Swiss, mozzarella, Monterey Jack, and aged cheeses like Parmigiano Reggiano are virtually lactose-free.

Beano received U.S. patent 5,445,957 on August 29, 1995.[10] The estimated expiration date of the patent is December 5, 2014. As of early 2013, more than four dozen competing products were on the market.

But… are there actually generic versions? And also, I thought GSK was actively litigating still.

I should find a really professional cookbook. not just a home cooking but all the way in the details

https://fatfreevegan.com/blog/2014/03/06/tofu-scramble-with-black-beans-and-wilted-spinach/

tried cooking the frozen spinach today.

Put 500g frozen spinach directly in the pan, added oil, added a can of mixed beans.

try chilli oil. e.g. in this recipe https://frommybowl.com/garlic-green-bean-stir-fry-crispy-tofu/

these co-op bean and cheese burritos are decadent. heavenly.

i can make my own cheddar and bean burrito

co-op has these frozen ground turkey sacks which are $3 for same amount as a fresh flat with is usually 6 - 10!

that makes me really interested in the economics of frozen ground turkey vs fresh.

I’ve been eating co-op lactose-free 1%, milk 900 ml. no reall issues

OK. I just reviewed my credit card bill.

I ate out twice, which is good! I used the vending machine a few times, but since stocking the work fridge with frozen burritos and bread and tomatoes and cucumbers and canned tuna and oats and peanuts that’s gone down a lot.

I went shopping 14 seperate times. That’s already huge - just a big chunk of time taken out of my weeks.

But also, I spent an average of $50 each time, coming out to
$700.

And I was super hungry this whole month, I definitely didn’t eat enough, I just bought bread and veggies and cheerios and eggs!

WTAF. What.

last month I did really well on my budget, came in under my expected amount.

Anorexia nervosa is an eating disorder characterized by restriction of caloric intake relative to caloric needs, leading to a significantly low body weight leading to multiorgan complications. Liver injury has been reported in more than 10% of patients with Anorexia Nervosa. While hepatocellular injuries are usually mild and resolve spontaneously, severe steatosis leading to acute liver failure is a very rare complication.

Lab work up showed abnormal liver enzymes with ALT 182, AST 289 ALP 508, total bilirubin 3.8, direct bilirubin 2.1

Patient was managed with adequate nutritional support after which her condition improved significantly with normalization of liver function.Liver biopsy was not performed because of convincing evidence of steatosis on imaging studies, risk of invasive procedure and patient’s spontaneous recovery.

  • Water absorption:

The soluble fiber in soybeans can absorb water in the digestive tract, and if you don’t drink enough fluids, this can lead to harder stools.

realizing I’m not closing the loop in many ways; writing down recipes, but I don’t have them in hardcopy and in the kitchen, so I just always ad-lib

I don’t remember what I ate, how many calories I ate, etc, when I drank, etc.

need meal tracking app that I punch in these things and get feedback.
